The French Federation of cycling performs the MAC 2016 expedition, from southern Mexico to Central America, they began in Oaxaca on February 7 and will tour highways in Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama, about 6000 kms .
Mr. Michael Cabart reported that the aim of the tour is to highlight cycling tourism as an agent to promote coexistence, encounters and friendship.

In October 2014 a chartered Qantas 747 flight was traveling around the globe, with 245 passengers on board. The tour started in Sydney on October 16th 2014 and went around the world for 21 days, visiting Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, Jerusalem, Marrakech, Antigua Guatemala and San Francisco. While being in Guatemala, Sin Fronteras organized hotels, all meals, transportation, guided tours, and special events, taking care of every detail, to make the Guatemala experience memorable.
The Tikal National Park, Guatemala's most important archaeological site and natural reserve, was included in a list of the 10 most important ancient ruins in the world by Conde Nast.
The publication points out that Tikal may be the most impressive example of a pre-Columbian society. It also highlights that the view from the top of the temples is amazing. Tikal was also recognized last June by CNN Travel and French publication, DesignMag.fr as one of the best national parks in the world.
In 1979 UNESCO declared the Tikal National Park as the first Joint World Heritage Site for its cultural and natural qualities.
